Brownies

There are a few quintessential bite-size dessert options that are guaranteed to be seen at almost any party: cookies, cupcakes… and brownies! Cake Pops didn’t join the party until the 21st century so they won’t be considered quintessential for a few more decades. So let’s talk about the chocolatiest, ooiest, gooiest of the bunch: the brownie!

Invented in 1893 in Chicago, it’s pretty much the only dessert that doesn’t allow for any base flavor other than chocolate (I don’t acknowledge the existence of blondies). You can expound upon that base - and boy do we ever - but chocolate will always be the heart and soul of this confection!
